6 Things I Didn’t Know I Needed, But I now LOVE!
It’s always exciting when you discover the product that changes everything. It doesn’t matter if it’s an undiscovered gem or one of the most expensive things in the collection, it’s always a strange thinking that you survived without having them in your life.
If they sound silly or like useless things, it’s only because you’ve never had the pleasure of using them for yourself yet.
With this in mind, here are 6 things that I didn’t know I needed but now I love.
1. Drinking Challenge Board Game
Whenever I go to a party, I always get asked to bring this drinking challenge board game. Ever since I used it for the first time, it’s brought excitement and something fresh to our events.
The rules are simple: we must navigate our way through a series of beer drinking challenges, ranging from having a rhyming competition to showing off our best dance moves to lucky enough to witness.
We then take turns to roll the dice and move our character around the board (as a side note, it looks awesome too).
The aim is to avoid being eliminated and become the last person standing. The ‘reward’ is the drink the Community Cup. It’s an absolute blast and something I love to.
Invite your own friends over to play the game and start the weekend off right.
2. Custom Star Map
This next product is so cool. I didn’t know how much I loved space until I saw I got a custom star map that was unique to my own birthday. Don’t get me wrong, I have always found space fascinating but when it’s brought home like this, it takes it to a whole new level.
Above all else, it acts as inspiration. Earth is one in a trillion, and so am I. For this reason, I love this gift. I never knew I needed it but it reminds me every day to be great and there’s no one in the world like me.
If you are looking to get something original for your friends or family, you can get one from Twinkle In Time. It can make for a great anniversary present for your parents or the date that your best friend graduated from college.
3. Bird Potato Peeler
Like I said at the start of this article, some of the best things don’t require a fancy price tag – and this product fits the bill. Even though you can pick it up for less than 10 bucks, I find it so useful that I will never go back to using regular potato peelers ever again.
The reason is as follows: how many times do you find yourself peeling at the potato’s eyes to the point where you’re better off just cutting it off and wasting some of the flesh?
If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably answered with ‘too many times’. So, to get around this, I use this bird potato peeler. The bird comes equipped with a special ‘quiff’ so I can dig the eye out without having to throw away half of the actual potato.
Of course, it can also be used to peel carrots and other vegetables, giving me even more reasons for loving it.
4. Custom T-Shirts
When I go shopping, a lot of the time I leave empty-handed because I can never find exactly what I’m looking for. For t-shirts in particular, there are so many patterns that I just don’t see myself wearing.
So I started thinking… instead of relying on a fashion brand to make something I like, why don’t I just get a print of something I think looks cool? Since then, I haven’t looked back.
I went over to www.screenprintthis.com and they gave me exactly what I was looking for. I ended up getting a high-quality design for less than 20 bucks, which in the fashion industry is an absolute bargain! Whether it’s getting a print or a complete custom job, they will have you covered.
I am recommending that more people try this out for themselves. Don’t ever feel unsatisfied from your shopping experience ever again.
5. Reusable Water Bottle
I’ve been told about reusable water bottles for a while but my reaction was always the same – why do I need one if I can just use a glass or mug that does the job just as well.
That was until I came across the Kool8 water bottle. My initial impressions were it looked really cool and its claim that it will keep both my hot and cold drinks at the required temperatures was certainly eye-catching.
I was also impressed with the brand’s ethos of donating 20% of profits to helping people without access to clean water.
So I gave it a go. Needless to say, it has proven to be one of the best purchases of my short life. I can see myself using this every day for the rest of my life and I like to think I’ve done my bit to help out the world too.
There are plenty of other reusable water bottles you can buy but this was the one that convinced me to take the plunge.
6. Couch Armrest Table
This gadget may be last on this list but that doesn’t take away from how much I didn’t know I needed it, but now I love it.
Sure, I have a coffee table next to my couch but there are times when I’m tucked lying there, glued to my favorite show, not wanting to move an inch. After all, it’s just so much effort stretching all the way over just for a drink.
And that’s where the couch armrest table comes in and changed everything. It just sits on the armrest, keeping my drink and snacks secure and at the perfect length, so even when things are heating up on-screen, my essentials are never out of reach.
I can guarantee that unless you have one for yourself, you won’t know what you’re missing out on. I got mine above from Etsy but you can always create your own from scratch if you’re into DIY.
