Uber keeps rolling out new features to make riding in an Uber more enjoyable, and it can be hard to stay up-to-date with everything you can do. The rides are all different, because the Uber drivers aren’t employees, that ride is either owned by the driver or perhaps a rented PCO car. But they really do strive to please their customers, and you can help make your ride more pleasant, too.

Here are some quick tricks you can do the next time you find yourself in the back of an Uber.

#1: Give Your Friends Your ETA

Now you can share your ETA with your friends so that they will know what time you’ll arrive and will be automatically notified if you start running behind. This is a handy feature for times when you’re meeting a group and can cut down on the number of text messages you need to send to multiple people.

#2: Play Your Own Tunes

You can link your Pandora or Spotify account to your Uber account and if your driver has it enabled you’ll be able to listen to your own music as you travel to your destination. This is a very handy feature and can avoid those awkward moments when you have to ask the driver to change the station.

#3: Schedule a Routine Pickup

If you always take the same trip at the same time on the same day you can schedule your pickup in advance so that your driver will be there waiting for you automatically. This can definitely be a great feature but make sure you don’t forget that you set the pick up, but don’t worry Uber will notify you to make sure you’re there.

#4: Order Some Grub

You can now order food through the Uber app, perfect for those times when you’re coming home from a late night out and want to finish things off with your favorite after hours food. If you time it right your food will arrive roughly when you will, making it the perfect technological advancement for nights on the town.

#5: Use Separate Accounts

You can use a business and a personal account to keep your traveling separated, making it easier to write off your business travel as a business expense. This will also help you keep everything organized so you know which rides should come out of your personal account and which ones should be paid for from a business account.

#6: Bookmark Your Favorite Places

If you tend to go to the same half dozen places over and over it is a great idea to bookmark them so you can easily call yourself an Uber when the need arises. Rather than having to type in the address you simply click on your bookmark and you are taken to the order confirmation page for that ride.

#7: Split Fares With Friends

It’s great sharing an Uber with friends because everyone gets an economical ride and it can really bring costs down to a minimum. It’s very easy to split the fare with your friends, you just click the Split Fare button and the app takes care of the rest. It’s a lot easier than trying to figure it all out amongst yourselves, especially if no one has cash but everyone has their smartphone.
