How to Survive, Thrive & Turn Passion into Profit & Security While Working & Traveling the World
When it comes to finding balance between working hard and playing hard, I consider myself somewhat of an expert. I built a million-dollar business while working part-time from beautiful locations all around the world, and money isn’t an issue because I’ve turned my passion into a profitable online business. One week it might be Bali, and the next it’s dinner in Paris — all because I made a choice to create a life on my own terms.
Let’s be real. Online businesses are about so much more than money. They’re about freedom, and choice, and travel. And experiences. They’re about creating the intentional life and business of your dreams. I didn’t have to choose between life as a struggling backpacker or the corporate career that comes with *maybe* two weeks of vacation, and there’s nothing stopping you from making the same decision I did. The decision to say “forget your rules, I’m doing things my way.”
If you want to learn how to turn your passion into profit (aka freedom) while traveling the world, here are a few tips on how to make it happen:
Stay Intentional
Being an intentional entrepreneur means you are focused on money-making tasks. I hear so much of the “good things come to those who wait” talk from different business people. Although it’s important to be patient, good things won’t come unless you intentionally get out there and work for it.
Start with taking control of your mindset. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the power of shifting my mindset to focus on what I want. For instance, I set a money goal for the day and then plan out the steps to achieve this goal. Creating the step-by-step process is the intentional part!
Also, make sure to spend time on thoughtful marketing. Value-based marketing is a great way to be intentional because you’re teaching something in every piece of content being produced, convincing others of your value — even before an offer has been created.
The more you are able to automate, streamline, and systemize all your business processes, the more intentional you can be with your valuable time. Start by investing in automation software, using project management applications, and planning all social content through a scheduling platform.
Stay Grounded
Although you may see your entrepreneur crushes portray this glamourous, lavish life on Instagram, it’s not all that it may seem from social media’s point of view. I’ll be honest with you, the path to becoming a young millionaire is not always smooth sailing. There will be hardships along the way that make you question if it’s even worth it.
That’s why it’s important to stay grounded and true to yourself when life becomes chaotic.
Who knows…maybe your miracle is right around the corner, but if you give up you’ll never get to find out. So, move past those blocks, learn from your struggles, and center yourself around your commitment to reach your goals and beyond! What you believe, you can always achieve.
Build A Team You Trust
Hiring people is truly worth the investment because you are able to focus solely on the money-making tasks that can only be done by you. Stop yourself from losing valuable time and hire when it’s the right time. You’ll know when it’s the time when you are the bottleneck of your business.
I personally could not live without my operations manager, for example. Having someone take care of all the day-to-day business responsibilities allows me to find the time to continue doing what I know best.
However, there’s no team without trust. Developing trust is vital for your business to become successful and reach its highest potential. The quality, productivity, and dedication of your team members can significantly impact the overall success of your business. Cultivate healthy, strong and honest relationships with your team. This will help drive consistent communication at all times, which leads me to my next point.
Communication
Communication is seriously key to running a successful online business. When running an online business, your team may be spread across several locations worldwide. Luckily, there are many business communication tools online that make online collaboration extremely easy. For instance, Slack is an amazing communication tool that even allows you to split conversations into different channels such as marketing or customer service.
As you dive headfirst into building your dream business, it may be difficult to get out of the work zone. Just don’t forget to maintain communication with those closest to you too. Schedule time to check in with your family regularly and plan date nights with your partner.
Develop Passive Income
If you want to increase your income without increasing the hours you put in, then you should develop passive income into your business strategy.
Passive income is creating content upfront that will continue to produce income over time. Passive income can be generated through several courses, programs, group memberships, and more.
For me, I decided to launch my own original coaching programs in the early days of my business. Each of my launching programs took off and has brought in over six-figures in passive income, just on their own. This allowed me to find a way to have the business and lifestyle I always wanted.
When it comes to passive income, money’s not my main motivator, and that’s what helps me produce content that really works. Instead, I think about how I can make the biggest impact possible.
Building an online business will require lots of hard work and preparation, but the personal and financial freedom that comes with being your own boss — from literally anywhere in the world — will totally be worth it.
