But we make the mistake of consuming too many carbohydrates, which add to our fatty misfortune.
The guys from Little Bloke Fitness are going to give you 8 fat burning snack ideas that you will enjoy eating, while allowing your body to lose fat. So say goodbye to sugar, refined flour, rice, pasta and potatoes. We’re giving you the good stuff.
Natural Greek yogurt.
This is a great snack option. Natural Greek Yogurt is full of protein and sits quite heavily once you have eaten it. Look for a good brand that doesn’t add any additional sugar. You can have one cup of natural yogurt as a snack and choose to eat it with a side of fruit. You can also jazz up your Greek yogurt with some green tea powder from clearspring. Try just putting one teaspoon of green tea powder in your yogurt and watch your snack transform.
*Note – Make sure you don’t purchase the Greek-style yogurt, which isn’t the same. Check the nutritional composition, which should have a high amount of protein and low amount of carbohydrates.
Roasted chicken pieces.
You can either do this yourself or pick-up a roasted chicken from your local shopping centre. You can choose to eat it warm or cold, but it will give you the protein that you need for your meal. Consume with a side of salad or green vegetables.
Canned tuna.
Canned tuna is a great way to get your protein intake as a snack. Simply purchase the ready-made cans of tuna (ideally in spring water, however you can also get flavoured tuna) and then consume with a side of salad or cooked green vegetables.
Meatballs
You can purchase minced beef from your butcher shop and create homemade meatballs. Add spices and then cook them in a tomato-based stew. You can serve the meatballs with a side of broccoli or cabbage.
Peanuts.
Peanuts are inexpensive and a great snack that is full of protein and healthy fats. Make sure you purchase the unsalted and unflavoured peanuts, as the other may have a high concentration of salt or sweeteners.
Protein pancakes.
Pancakes are a great snack that you can have on the go. But they contain too much sugar and carbohydrates. You can make it more protein-heavy by purchasing protein powder and making it a dominant part of the pancake mix. Cook the pancakes and then store them as a snack for later. You can eat them by themselves or with some fruit.
Cheese.
Cheese is high in protein and in fat. Eating cheese as a snack is good only when you aren’t consuming starchy carbohydrates. Cheese will offer you a tasty snack while providing your body with an energy source that can be burned.
If you consume starchy carbs with the cheese, the body will source the energy from the starch carbs first and the cheese fat will get stored as an energy reserve in the body’s fat cells. Snack on cheese, but make sure that it is eaten without any carbs.
Lean meat sausages.
Another easy meal is having some sausages. You need to make sure that the sausages are made from lean meat and not excess fat. Fry them in the pan with a side of onions, garlic and tomatoes and serve with a clove of broccoli.
These snack ideas will help you cut down your body’s fat, while keeping your hunger and appetite satisfied. Maintain this snack diet for 3 months or more and you should be flaunting your abs in no time. The choice is yours. Bon appetite!
